Sesquicentennial celebration updates

As we get closer to the sesquicentennial celebration this summer I wanted to make sure you all know about some exciting opportunities:

The Oxford Fire Department is organizing steam engine train rides to Iowa City and back on July 4. Tickets are on sale now so buy yours before they are gone! Click here to order online.

From the Oxford, Iowa Centennial, 1869-1969 book

In addition to the train rides, there will be an Oxford Firecracker 5k run/1 mile walk on the morning of July 4. Click here for more information and to register.

Also, The Oxford Public library is holding an art contest and is looking for pieces of work that show what Oxford means to you. Information about the Map My Oxford contest can be found here and entries are due by June 15.

If you are on Facebook, please follow the Oxford Sesquicentennial Celebration page to stay up to date on plans including: Mural painting! Talent show! Finalized Schedule! Dance! And many more exciting events!
